I like that idea, but I kind of think it has a little bit to do with his ancestor. I think the Sufferer got really pissed off at himself near the time of his death, for forgiving everyone who objected to his ideas despite the shit they gave him, and that anger sort of carried out to Karkat. But he’s also real tired of all the bullshit he’s going through, yeah.
in an attempt to help further along the transformation of earth into alternia condesce wanted to create a form of lusus that would take to humans easily and that humans could relate more to. so she had the idea of combing humans dna with lusus dna she decided to start their first experiments using mantises and handed the project over to an up and coming human science lab company that paid no mind to human safety or moral and would take such a challenge with great enthusiasm. the experiment failed so horribly it was never spoken of again by the condesce or anyone working for her and all the altered test subjects where killed by the hands of the other test subjects that were still human leaving almost no trace of the attempts.
All troll hair is the same color because they have almost no difference in skin. In humans the color of hair is chosen by the levels of melanin in the skin. Assuming that its the same or at least similar with the trolls having no variation of hair color would allude to having no variation in skin.
this isnt much of a theory or even of a head canon since we already knew that but its some what of an attempt to explain why through a head canon sort of way.
I agree with you wholeheartedly! Also, Karkat wouldn’t have survived 6 sweeps if he had melanin in his skin —- because wouldn’t it be a pinkish color, giving off his blood color? Same with tongues, lips and tear ducts.
In my own head canon when it comes to lusus when they are young they are very intelligent, when they get a child to take care of they are more than capable of teaching them and speaking to them and showing them how to do things. As the child gets older and they get older they start to loose this intelligence. As the sweeps go by the lusui become more and more like wild animals, and at one point the children will be the ones taking care of the lusui. That become pets if kept by the child or the child can just neglect them and leave them behind. In a case like terezi who’s lusus wasn’t even born yet was obviously very intelligent and took care of her completely from its ability to control terezi through mind control and speak to her in her dreams. While all the other children’s lusui where much older and relied on their care more. At least it was obvious that the lusui where no longer taking care of the children. This could also be said to help teach the children how to be self dependent forcing them to be on their own, as well as responsibility and how to care for something.

Voice Headcanons Ahoy!!!
Dave’s voice is kind of like Cristopher Drew Ingles, except with more of a Texan drawl. Meaning, his voice is kind of high pitched but not really that much and relaxed and airy.
John’s voice has a cute puberty thing going on I guess?? It’s deep at times and at times it’s rather high-pitched. When it’s not fluctuating, it’s kind of a medium voice and it’s really bubbly and cute.
Jade’s is rather deep for her age, but it seems somewhat high-pitched because she talks with a lot of emotion.
Rose’s is a medium voice for her age, and keeps level most of the time, unless she gets really pissed off, in which case, it gets very deep and very intimidating, but most of the time her voice is very homey and nice to hear.

Hey everyone, this is Dustin! Sorry for the lack of posts yesterday, Amanda and I were both really busy. For once. But I guess I’ll make a post this morning —- to make up for yesterday I guess.
(Humanstuck) body type headcanons:
John: He’s a bit short but not really skinny —- he’s got a lot of muscle from luggin’ around hammers and stuff. Shorter and beefier than Dave, definitely.
Dave: He’s tall and lanky, really skinny and he can’t help it. He eats like a pig but doesn’t ever gain weight. The tallest out of the Beta kids.
Jade: She’s quite tall for a girl, and has kind of a beefy body type; but eats healthy enough to where she’s just kind of thick and looks strong(she is). Second tallest out of the Beta kids.
Rose: She’s really short and very skinny. She’s not a twig like Dave- she still has nice curves- but she’s skinny nonetheless. She’s the shortest out of the Beta kids.
Jane: Kind of thick but the healthy kind of thick, you know? She’s not overweight or anything, just has a bit of pudge on her belly. Shoooort.
Dirk: Kind of short, considering he’s a boy, but he’s the normal height for a girl his age. He’s also really skinny, but he has meat on his bones unlike his Beta counterpart.
Jake: Tall and biggish—- again, not fat but mucsley. Not to the point where it’s gross though. But you can tell he moves around a lot.
Roxy: Amazon-like. She’s tall and isn’t too skinny but isn’t too thick; and has a wonderful ass. (… I really like my headcanon for Roxy)
Karkat: Real short, and isn’t skinny; he’s actually got pudge on his belly that he really hates. He thinks he’s fat and continuously tries out diets and meds to fix his belly and his friends hate it.
Sollux: Tall and lanky. The tallest kid in his class, he pretty much towers over anyone he comes into contact with. He’s also very very skinny. It’s funny to see him and Karkat together because they’re such opposites.
Gamzee: Tall but not really very skinny; he’s got meat on his bones. Like, anyone who likes boys wants Gamzee with his shirt off. He also slumps. A lot.
Tavros: He’s actually got a very masculine stature; he has muscles and is quite tall for his age.
Vriska: About average height and is skinny but not too skinny.
Eridan: Tall and muscley. Totally works out.
Feferi: Short and plump; she’s not really fat but is thick naturally, so she’s got this cute chubby girl thing going on.

Music/art headcanons for the beta kids!!(with a special message I guess)
Dave:
Though he likes rap, he’s picky about it. He won’t listen to rappers he doesn’t think have talent. Or ones he just doesn’t like the sound of. But if they do have talent, he’ll respect them. He also likes soft rock, but would never admit that to anyone. They’d have to, like, go through his web history to figure it out. Which Bro does. Then he messes with him about it.
He’s also actually a really good artist. When he started SBaHJ that was really his quality of drawing—- but he eventually got better and better but he kept making SBaHJ comics because it was so popular. Now he’s an amazing artist for his age but he keeps that on the DL because of irony and stuff.
John:
He likes orchestral music as well as pop-rock or soft rock. He likes bands like Panic! At the Disco and Fallout Boy. Owl City too. He really like Owl City because it has a dreamy sound.
He can’t draw. At all.
Rose:
Likes rock, mostly. Likes 80s rock a lot but won’t let people know that unless she’s really comfortable with them. She loves songs about revolution and not taking shit —- because that’s kind of how she is.
She can draw or paint kind of innovative designs —- almost floral stuff. It’s pretty.
Jade:
Like all kinds of music! She’s not one to be picky about it. If she likes the message and the tune, she likes it!
She likes to paint random designs. There are really never any guidelines —- she just goes with her gut!

Also I have language headcanons. Dave speaks almost fluent Spanish because he lives in Texas and most people speak at least a little bit of Spanish around here —- and Dave thinks it’s a nice language. John speaks French because he thinks it’s pretty and very interesting. Rose, despite her last name being/looking French, likes German. It’s a very beautiful language to her. Jade knows snippits and bits of several languages, including Japanese, Finnish, Greek, Chinese, Spanish, French, German and Italian.
